The ice skating loop is open seasonally. Please check the website for updates!
The loop is a 810 foot long and 20 foot wide trail designed for pleasure skating. The loop has refrigerated ice. Stay long enough and you might get a chance to see the Zamboni drive by.
Cold Weather Policy:
For the safety of users and staff, outdoor ice rinks, including the skating loop, are closed when the temperature is -10 degrees or lower or the wind chill is -20 degrees or lower.
Hours
Phenow Pavilion warming house
Monday through Friday: 4 to 9 p.m.
Saturday, Sunday, and District 279 non-school days: 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Skate loop (weather permitting)
Open daily: 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Approximate resurfacing every two hours
The loop is open as scheduled. For any closures, follow parks and recreation on Facebook.
Skate rentals
Monday through Friday: 4 to 8:30 p.m.
Saturday, Sunday, and District 279 non-school days: 10 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.
All rental skates must be returned by 9 p.m.
Cost: $8 per pair.
Available Sizes:
Figure skates: Youth 8J to Adult 12.
Hockey skates: Youth 12J to Adult 15.
Skates are available on a first-come, first-served basis, and sizes are limited. On busy days, some sizes may not be available as they could be in use. We appreciate your understanding, and please note that specific sizes cannot be guaranteed.

Monday to Friday: 4 to 8 p.m.
Saturday, Sunday, and District 279 non-school days: 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Skate sharpening (limited availability on weekends) $8 per pair
Skate loop rules
- Leisure skating only.
- No hockey sticks or pucks are allowed.
- No power skating, training, or tag games.
- Food and drink are not allowed on the ice.
- Skates must be worn on the ice.
- No reservations are needed.
- PVC skating assistance devices are allowed and available to rent.
