This past Saturday it was cold! Far too cold for outside play. My daughter had just turned 1 and a half so I thought it would be fun to try something different to celebrate. We decided to spend an afternoon at the Mall of America and visit CoCoMelon Playdate.

We don't watch that show, and we don't know any of the characters but it really didn't matter. It is a great design for toddlers and smaller children. For a Saturday, it was busy but not too crowded to enjoy what the venue had to offer. There is a main play room with little side bump out areas of different type of play like a pretend bakery, fire fighter house, and a garden. There is a large climbing area that even my child was able to do and a fun slide to run down. There is a ball pit but it was a little deep for a young toddler, much better for around 3-4 year olds. They have a couple of party rooms and there was a birthday going on which it looked like all the kids were having fun. There is a small cafe with water, sodas, and juices and a few options for snacks.
Two or three times during our hour and a half long visit, there was a dressed up CoCoMelon character (not sure which one) that walked around and took pictures with the kids and gave hugs. It was very cute and my daughter loved him! That was a big hit for all the kids.

If I had to complain on one thing, it would be the older kids that were far too rough a rowdy for young toddlers to be playing aggressively like they were. If the venue was more strict on age, it would maybe make for a smoother experience for young kids (and parents) as I saw multiple toddlers who got bumped or pushed and hurt by the bigger kids. Other than that, I really don't have much negative feedback at all! In fact, we are considering the venue for her 2nd birthday.
Overall, if you have a young child that likes exploring and climbing and if you're looking for indoor fun, this is a great option! I'd recommend checking it out if you get the chance.
